“When we diagnosed a split inlet manifold on a 2009 BMW D3 Alpina we feared that the DPF may have been damaged beyond repair. It was completely blocked and wouldn’t run for more than a few seconds. The back pressure reading was 950mBar at idle and heavy soot particles visible all over the face of the DPF. We received the unit back within 48 hours; refitted it to the car to find the DPF back pressure was now reading 3 mBar at idle and 21mBar at 4,000 rpm.
